Presto Changeo - P.S. Flavor! Gets a New Look
July 2, 2017Nine Ways to Sunday with PS Flavor
A closer look at the new P.S. Flavor! labels.
It's been almost two months since my last posting for the Nine Ways to Sunday… P.S. Flavor! project. The reason for this delay is because all the
P.S. Flavor! packaging has gotten a little facelift!
Branding modifications can take some time to completely implement, even when there's a relatively small number of products. I'm happy to report that the transition to the new look is complete (thanks to the herculean efforts of P.S. Flavor's
Nicole Ramsland), and I can now take a quick step back and start shooting the "on white" series again. Yay!
Now all I have to do is complete my spice transporter device and molecularly beam the product out of the old bottles and into the new bottles!
The version 1 P.S. Flavor! label is on the left and the new version 2 label is on the right. The back label has gone through a minor verbiage alteration, while the top label has remained unchanged.
There are a total of three package types now. In addition to the bottles, I have spice packets along with a couple really cute "perfect on" combo pails. A slight change in the project titles will be needed, to help keep all of this straight. The new package types mean that "way one" just got "way bigger".
The product shots on white will be "
Way One, Part W". The product shots on a dark background will be "
Way One, Part D". The name "
Way One Part G" didn't conflict with anything that had previously been used with the v1 bottles, so that one is still active (even though I haven't divulged what the concept for "Part G" is).
I'm actually looking forward to going back and reshooting the Part W "on white" series. There were a couple of reflection issues in the bottle tops that I will attempt to mitigate, along with a pesky "hot spot" from the main fill light that I want to try and soften more. The new package types will, no doubt, present a few of their own new challenges… for example, a packet, is very different than a bottle, and will require it's own lighting setup.
So please stay tuned... "Way One, Part W" will resume shortly.
Each and every product is different and unique! I can't wait to see how the packets and pails react with the studio strobes.
